Accommodation at Hands and Greet BnB

During their stay in Broco Blank Medic, the FatherTalks team had the pleasure of staying at a charming BnB called Hands and Greet. This cozy bed and breakfast, run by the hospitable Hand and Jared, offers a peaceful and comfortable retreat. It is conveniently located near a canal where many boats are docked, and within close proximity to a supermarket. The surrounding area is adorned with picturesque houses, beautiful gardens, and scenic canals, making it an ideal spot for relaxation.

Aside from the comfortable accommodations, Jared, who is also an artist specializing in etching, welcomed the team into her studio. Her stunning artwork impressed the team, and one lucky member received a beautifully crafted piece as a gift.

Exploring Museum of Broker Wheeling

A two-minute walk away from the Hands and Greet BnB is the Museum of Broker Wheeling. The museum provides an insight into the history of the area and showcases various artifacts and exhibits. One notable attraction outside the museum is a colossal cabbage statue, representing the region's agricultural heritage. Additionally, visitors can witness a live auction, where fresh fruits and vegetables are sold. The auction clock, a unique feature of the museum, allows buyers to indicate their desired price by pressing a button, creating a visually engaging experience.

A Canal Tour to Remember

One of the highlights of the FatherTalks team's visit to Broco Blank Medic was a canal tour. With an intricate network of canals connecting each island, the area truly lives up to its name. Known as the Thousand Islands, the archipelago offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. Unlike typical canal tours, this experience stood out due to its rarity and the team immensely enjoyed exploring the waters.

Cycling Culture and Quirks

Broco Blank Medic is no exception to the Netherlands' famous cycling culture. Most residents rely on bicycles as their preferred mode of transport, and it was no different in this scenic paradise. Our host, Hand, kindly provided a kids' cycle for the FatherTalks team. However, they quickly discovered an amusing quirk - instead of using handbrakes, the cycles require backpedaling to stop. This provided some entertaining moments as they navigated the picturesque streets.
